What if all the power we need to lead healthy, happy lives is within us already? We all know about recycling, energy-saving light bulbs, not letting the water run too long, but what about how we take care of ourselves and what we think? ChicagoHealers.com Practitioner, Dr. Helen Lee, D.C., gives the following tips on how living a healthy life not only improves the quality of your life, but improves the health of our planet.
We are part of Mother Earth: Not only in that we live here and utilize her resources, but in that the energy that flows through her, flows through us. How we take care of ourselves, the choices we make, and how we think can be not only a reflection of how you impact your own life but also your family, community and ultimately the world.
Positive and Noxious (or Negative) Chemicals: Most people are unaware that everything we think creates a shift in our energy. Positive thoughts create the release of positive chemicals in the body, while negative thoughts create noxious (negative) chemicals.
Big Changes in Small Packages: Big eco-changes are incredible but big changes can also be made on a moment-to-moment basis. Stop and notice nature and its beauty, think about the multitude of things you are grateful for, eat and nourish the body with fresh fruits & vegetables and drink more water to help the body function optimally.
The “Big” Picture: Consciously choose to see and expand what's already perfect and beautiful in a world that often sensationalizes what's wrong and negative. As Mahatma Gandhi stated so eloquently, "Be the Change you wish to see in the World." It has a ripple effect.
